Our history
Sainte Anne School is a private school founded by the Oblate Missionary Sisters of the Assumption and opened on January 6, 2014.
It is located in the village of Rukomo, 14 km from the town of Nyagatare.

The School's Origin l
Since 2008, Sister Régine Marsden, who was Provincial of the Rwanda-Tanzania Region, initiated the preschool project for the children of mothers who came to the Nutrition Center.
These children desperately needed balanced nutrition for their health, as well as activities to improve their psychomotor

Sister Régine identified this educational need and had the idea of creating the preschool, but classrooms needed to be built. Teams from the Coup de pouce humanitaire association arrived in 2008 and 2010 to build two classrooms, and then volunteers set up a third classroom and a kitchen to prepare meals for the children. The preschool now accommodates 200 children in three grades

The parents of the children attending kindergarten submitted a request to the Sisters to establish an elementary school. Sister Régine, Provincial, sought benefactors to enable the purchase of the land and the construction of the elementary school in 2013 and 2014, with six classrooms and two offices

The new buildings at Sainte Anne Primary School made it possible to organize the first school year on January 6, 2014, with two first- and second-grade classes, each with 40 students. In 2017, with the contribution of three Coup de pouce humanitaire teams, the support of the Blanc-Mesnil Foundation, benefactors, and volunteers, the construction of the administrative building, the multipurpose room, and the library, and the inauguration of the school were completed

Thanks to the support of the ASISE association, the school was able to acquire a large additional plot of land next to the school in 2019. While the site is being built, it is being used for planting crops to provide the children with food. With the support of two teams from the Coup de pouce humanitaire association, a building with a kitchen and a store was built to allow the children to eat on the school grounds.

In 2020 and 2021, the school received financial support from the ASISE association, the Micro-Projects Agency, the Rhineland-Palatinate-Rwanda twinning program, and the Coup de pouce humanitaire association to construct four new buildings with three classrooms and two restrooms to provide the children with suitable facilities for quality education
